Habitat Tree

The Habitat Tree has just been set up at Bulleen Art & Garden in an attempt to encourage people to plant gardens which encourage native animals to take up residence. The tree used was once a majestic specimen on my husband's western District family farm. It represents all fora planted for fauna, as well as the role of dead trees in providing shelter for the animals.

I have made a variety of ceramic animals designed to take up residence in this tree and inspire people to create fauna friendly habitat in their own gardens. This project has also rekindled my interest in our local creaures, and I am continuing on with this theme, with a few more creatures coming into being in my studio.
